Official trailer and new images of Kate Winslet’s upcoming film ‘Lee’
Roadside Attractions and Vertigo have shared the more images and the official trailer of Kate Winslet’s upcoming film about American war correspondent Lee Miller.
Who was Lee Miller?
Lee Miller (1907-1977) was a war correspondant and photographer for British Vogue during World War II. She became famous for having been one of the few female photographers permitted to accompany the US Allied forces in Europe in the second half of WWII.
Lee Miller’s photographs documented the horrific reality of the Nazi regime. She was present during the Allied liberation of the concentration camps in Dachau and Buchenwald. The image of her taking a bath in Hitler’s bathtub served as a visual metaphor for the events taking place at the time; it was taken on the same day that Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun ended their lives.
Who is behind it?
The film is directed by acclaimed cinematographer Ellen Kuras, best know for The Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. It was written by Liz Hannah, Marion Hume and John Collee and produced by Kate Solomon, Kate Winslet, Troy Lum, Andrew Mason, Marie Savare, and Lauren Hanz.
The cast includes Andy Samberg (Brooklyn 99), Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose), Alexander Skarsgård (The Northman), Josh O’Connor (The Crown) and Andrea Riseborough (The Death of Stalin).
