‘Oppenheimer’ trailer: Huge cast of British actors star in new WW2 thriller
An epic trailer has been released for Oppenheimer.
The upcoming thriller is the new movie from English filmmaker Christopher Nolan, best known for making hits like Dunkirk, The Prestige, Inception, and The Dark Knight trilogy.
His latest film will tell the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the American theoretical physicist known as the “father of the atomic bomb” due to his role in the Manhattan Project during World War II.

Written and directed by Nolan, Oppenheimer “thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world in order to save it.”
Who’s in it?
Leading the giant ensemble cast is Irish actor Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) as J. Robert Oppenheimer, with Emily Blunt (The English) playing his wife, biologist and botanist Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer.
Florence Pugh (Little Women) plays psychiatrist Jean Tatlock, alongside fellow British actors Gary Oldman (Harry Potter), Louise Lombard (The House of Eliott), Guy Burnet (Hollyoaks), and James D’Arcy (Broadchurch), with Northern Irish star Kenneth Branagh (Death on the Nile).
They’ll be joined by American stars Matt Damon (The Martian), Robert Downey Jr. (Sherlock Holmes), Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody), Josh Hartnett (Penny Dreadful), Benny Safdie (Licorice Pizza), Michael Angarano (This is Us), Dane DeHaan (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Dylan Arnold (Halloween), David Krumholtz (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs), Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story), and Matthew Modine (The Dark Knight Rises).
Oppenheimer is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin.
When’s the release date?
The movie will be released in cinemas around the world on Friday 21st July 2023.
Oppenheimer has been shot with a combination of IMAX 65mm and 65mm large-format film photography, so we’d definitely recommend seeing this one on the big screen!

Cillian Murphy is expected to begin filming the Peaky Blinders movie in early 2023.
