2023’s Oscar nominations revealed for ‘Banshees of Inisherin’, ‘Mrs Harris’ and more
The nominations have been announced for this year’s Oscars!
Ahead of the Academy Awards ceremony in Hollywood this March, 2023’s nominees were unveiled today from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
They were read out by British actor Riz Ahmed (Sound of Metal) and American actress Allison Williams (Get Out).
The 95th Academy Awards will celebrate what was an amazing year of cinema in 2022, with several British movies and stars up for awards.
The Oscars shortlist follows BAFTA’s announcement of their Film Awards nominations last week, with many of the same names popping up here.
Irish period drama The Banshees of Inisherin in particular certainly looks set to be a favourite this awards season, with a potential nine Academy Awards heading its way.
While All Quiet on the Western Front hasn’t quite matched its BAFTA tally of 14 nominations, Netflix’s acclaimed World War I drama is still up for an impressive nine Oscars, matching The Banshees of Inisherin‘s total.
Everything Everywhere All At Once tops the final tally, however, with 11 noms.
British films in the running for awards include Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris, Aftersun, Empire of Light, and The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.

Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, for the third time, the 95th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday 12th March at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The event will be broadcast in the UK on BBC One and in the US on ABC.
