2023’s BAFTA nominations announced for ‘Living’, ‘Empire of Light’, ‘The Wonder’ and more

BAFTA have announced their nominations for this year’s Film Awards!

Ahead of the ceremony in London next month, 2023’s shortlist sees All Quiet on the Western Front listed in an incredible 14 different categories.

Netflix’s World War I movie follows a young German soldier on the Western Front, as he and his comrades experience first-hand how the initial euphoria of war turns into desperation and fear as they fight for their lives, and each other, in the trenches.

Also potentially winning big next month is Irish period drama The Banshees of Inisherin, with an impressive 10 nods.

The shortlist celebrates what was an incredible year of cinema in 2022, with a number of British movies and stars up for awards.

Bill Nighy is up for best leading actor with 1950s drama Living, while Carey Mulligan is nominated for best supporting actress for her role in She Said.

Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack are both in the running for awards too with British comedy-drama Good Luck to You, Leo Grande.

Meanwhile, other British movies on the shortlist include Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris, Aftersun, See How They Run, Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical, The Wonder, and Empire of Light.
