‘Outlander’ preview: First look at Season 6 in new behind the scenes video!
The new season of Outlander is currently filming in Scotland.
Based on the sixth book in Diana Gabaldon’s series, A Breath of Snow and Ashes, the sixth season of Starz’s historical fantasy romance series began production in January following delays due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The show’s bosses have apparently spent over £150,000 on building a private testing centre at Wardpark Studios in Cumbernauld so that cast and crew members can be regularly tested for Covid-19.
Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie, reassured fans: “I know we have a strict set of rules and it will take some getting used to, but we will be safe. We are being tested, we have face coverings, so we are going to be in a really safe place.”
With the shoot now well underway, Starz has released a fun new video from the set, providing our best look yet at Season 6.
As well as a sneak peek behind the scenes, fans can also see the cast give some hints about what to expect from the 12 new episodes.
Heughan teases “a blast from Jamie’s past,” while co-star Richard Rankin promises “lots of new characters, lots of new relationships, [and] lots of potential drama.”
We can’t wait!

Fans also got an update recently on the rumoured Lord John Grey spin-off series, as well as confirmation that Outlander has officially been renewed for a seventh season.
Season 6 looks likely to premiere towards the end of this year or in early 2022.
While we wait, at least there’s Sam Heughan’s new travel documentary series to keep us entertained!
Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham began on Starz last month.
Outlander is available to watch free with a 7-day trial of Starz on Amazon Prime Video.
