Great news for fans of ‘The Irregulars’ on Netflix!

If you’ve been enjoying Netflix’s The Irregulars then we’ve got an exciting update for you…

Set in Victorian London, the new fantasy period drama series follows a gang of troubled delinquent teens who are manipulated into solving crimes for the sinister Doctor Watson and his mysterious business partner.

As the crimes take on a horrifying supernatural edge and a dark power emerges, the Irregulars have to come together to save London, each other, and potentially the entire world.

The Irregulars premiered on Netflix last week and you can take a look at what the reviews have said here.

It’s now been revealed in Newsweek that the show has already been renewed by Netflix!

Film and TV industry magazine Production Weekly has reported that a second season of The Irregulars is set to begin filming in Liverpool, England this summer.

Writer and creator Tom Bidwell will return as showrunner for Season 2.

The creative team for the first season also included Peaky Blinders executive producer Greg Brenman, and Poldark director Joss Agnew.

Season 1 starred Indian Summers actor Henry Lloyd-Hughes as Sherlock Holmes, with Royce Pierreson (Judy) playing John Watson, and Aidan McArdle (The Fall) playing Inspector Lestrade.

We’ll have to wait and see who’ll be back in the new episodes though!

The main cast featured Thaddea Graham (Us) as Bea, Darci Shaw (Judy) as Jessie, Jojo Macari (Sex Education) as Billy, Mckell David (Snatch) as Spike, and Harrison Osterfield (Catch 22) as Leopold.

We’d expect Season 2 to premiere on Netflix in spring 2022.

In the meantime, Netflix has also ordered Sherlock Junior, a new series about a young, modern day version of the detective.

A sequel to last year’s Enola Holmes is expected too.

Sadly, it looks like the planned third Sherlock Holmes movie starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law now isn’t going to be made.

The complete Sherlock box set is available on DVD on Amazon.
