Watch emotional ‘Outlander’ full trailer for Season 6: ‘A new danger awaits…’
Starz has unveiled a brand new two-minute trailer for the sixth season of Outlander!
Based on the sixth book in Diana Gabaldon’s series, A Breath of Snow and Ashes, the historical fantasy romance series’ latest season completed shooting last summer.
Season 6 was originally going to be 12 episodes long, but due to the “the challenges of filming in these unprecedented times” there are now only eight.
Starz has teased: “They have weathered tyranny and treachery, but a new danger awaits.”
Main cast members Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, and John Bell are all back in the new season.
They’re joined by several new characters, including Mark Lewis-Jones (Troy) as Tom, Alexander Vlahos (Merlin) as Allan, and Jessica Reynolds (The Ballad of Audrey Earnshaw) as Malva Christie.
Season 6 premieres this spring with an epic 90-minute feature-length opening episode on Sunday 6th March exclusively on Starz in the US.
UK fans will be able to watch via the Starzplay channel on Amazon Prime.

If you’re wondering what the brilliant song in the trailer is, it’s called ‘Wolves’ by Trills, a group of four female singers from London.
Christine Davis, President of Original Programming for Starz commented: “Starz is committed to investing in unapologetic, bold premium storytelling that amplifies diverse voices and shines a spotlight on women in front of and behind the camera through our #TakeTheLead initiative.”
She added: “The hit series Outlander embodies everything about our initiative including a powerful female lead character and an amazing team of storytellers. We look forward to following the adventures of Claire and Jamie in America during the Revolution as well as more time travel during this next season.”
A seventh season of Outlander will start production in Scotland this year.
It’ll be an “extended Season 7”, showrunner Matthew B. Roberts revealed in 2021, comprising 16 episodes to make up for Season 6’s shortened run.
We expect Season 7 to premiere on Starz towards the end of 2023.
Hopefully we’ll have more news on that rumoured Lord John Grey spin-off series soon too!
The ninth instalment in Diana Gabaldon’s series of fantasy romance stories was recently published; Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone is available to buy on Amazon now.
Outlander is available to watch free with a 7-day trial of Starz on Amazon Prime Video.
