‘Outlander’ return date confirmed: When does Season 6 start?

Starz has officially announced when Outlander will be back.

Based on the sixth book in Diana Gabaldon’s series, A Breath of Snow and Ashes, the next season of Starz’s historical fantasy romance series finished filming earlier this year.

Season 6 was originally meant to be 12 episodes long, but due to the “the challenges of filming in these unprecedented times” there’ll now only be 8 instalments.

Sam Heughan has previously hinted at “a blast from Jamie’s past,” while co-star Richard Rankin has promised “lots of new characters, lots of new relationships, [and] lots of potential drama.”

Outlander stars Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, and John Bell are all reprising their roles in the new episodes.

They’re going to be joined by a number of new characters, including Mark Lewis-Jones (Troy) as Tom, Alexander Vlahos (Merlin) as Allan, and Jessica Reynolds (The Ballad of Audrey Earnshaw) as Malva Christie.

We can now confirm that Season 6 will premiere on Starz with an epic 90-minute feature-length opening episode on Sunday 6th March 2022.
