Preliminary casting choices have been announced for the next Knives Out film

Andrew Scott has joined the cast for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, joining The Crown’s Josh O’Connor, Priscilla, star Cailee Spaeny, and Daniel Craig, who will return to the franchise as the Southern sleuth Benoit Blanc.

Wake Up Dead Man will be the third Knives Out film, following the original film (2019) and its sequelGlass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery which premiered on Netflix in 2022.

Who is behind it?

Director Rian Johnson confirmed this news to Deadline magazine. He will be back in the director’s chair for the third time, is writing the screenplay and is co-producing the film with partner Ram Bergman.

The first two films assembled a very impressive ensemble cast including Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Christopher Plummer, and Ana de Armas in Knives Out while the sequel Glass Onion brought Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kate Hudson, Kathryn Hahn, and Dave Bautista on board.

Andrew Scott and Daniel Craig are no strangers, having already worked together on the James Bond film Spectre (2015). Scott’s star is still in the ascendant following the recent Netflix release of Ripley in which he played the title role, and his acclaimed performance with the recent film All Of Us Strangers. The Crown and The Durrells actor Josh O’Connor is also enjoying continued success and can be seen in the new tennis film Challengers opposite Hollywood star Zendaya.

When can we watch it?
