‘Sanditon’ returns: Official first trailer for Season 2 has arrived!
PBS has released the first teaser for the new season of Sanditon.
The popular period drama series received a surprise renewal in 2021 following an incredible campaign of support by fans.
Based on Jane Austen’s unfinished final novel, Sanditon originally launched in 2019 on ITV.
While Theo James sadly won’t be returning as Sidney, there are six new regular cast members and lots of actors from Season 1 are reprising their roles.
Dickensian writer Justin Young is the new showrunner, taking over the reins from Sanditon creator Andrew Davies, while several fresh writers have also joined the team.
Season 2 started shooting last summer in Bristol, England and we don’t have to wait too much longer to see the six brand new episodes.
Fans have told they can look forward to “new romances, friendships and challenges for the residents as the Army make Sanditon their new base.”
A brand new 30-second preview from Masterpiece features our first glimpse at Season 2.
As well as the lavish coastal landscapes and beautiful locations we’ve come to expect from Sanditon, the brief trailer also give us a sneak peek at new characters Captain Carter, Colonel Lennox, and Captain Fraser.
The handsome trio are played by Maxim Ays (Still So Awkward), Tom Weston-Jones (Dickensian), and Frank Blake (Bridgerton).
