We’ve got a sneak peak at the upcoming festive episodes of The Other Bennet Sister!
Continuing the story of Mary Bennet following the events of the first ten episodes earlier this year, the BBC’s hit period drama series is back later this year.
A three-part Christmas special recently wrapped filming in Wales, with Ella Bruccoleri returning as Mary, alongside Dónal Finn (Young Sherlock) as her husband Tom Hayward.
The series finale saw Mary agreeing to wed Tom – but with marriage comes a new identity and the question remains: who will Mary become as Mrs Hayward?

Other cast reprising their roles include Ruth Jones (Gavin & Stacey) as Mrs Bennet, Tanya Reynolds (Ted Lasso) as Caroline Bingley, Laurie Davidson (The Girlfriend) as Mr Ryder, Varada Sethu (Andor) as Ann Baxter, Poppy Gilbert (Chloe) as Lizzie Darcy, Maddie Close (Chasing Red) as Jane Bingley, Grace Hogg-Robinson (The Coroner) as Lydia Wickham, Molly Wright (The A Word) as Kitty Buncock, and Anna Fenton-Garvey (The Nevers) as Charlotte Collins.
Joining the ensemble is Nerys Amber Stocks (Mammoth) as Mary’s housemaid Lucy.
The three new episodes have been written by Sarah Quintrell, who wrote nine of the 10 episodes of the series, with the festive special based on storylines by author Janice Hadlow.
Based on Hadlow’s acclaimed novel, The Other Bennet Sister followed Mary Bennet, the oft-overlooked middle sister in Pride & Prejudice, as she navigated the societal pressures of Regency England, where marriage is both aspiration and necessity.

The series was a huge success, with 6.5 million watching in its first 28 days, and the first episode now up to 8.4 million viewers!
The Other Bennet Sister will return in the UK exclusively on BBC iPlayer and BBC One this Christmas. Over in the US and Canada, it will be available exclusively on BritBox, with a release window yet to be confirmed.
