Watch trailer for ‘Sanditon’ star’s spooky new movie set in 1970s London

Sanditon star Rose Williams has a creepy new film out this week!

The 27-year-old English actress, who played Charlotte Haywood in ITV’s popular period drama series, leads the cast of The Power.

Set in London in 1974, the horror movie follows a young new nurse working the night shift in a hospital that’s been evacuated.

The official synopsis reads: “As Britain prepares for electrical blackouts to sweep across the country, trainee nurse Val (Rose Williams) arrives for her first day at the crumbling East London Royal Infirmary.

“With most of the patients and staff evacuated to another hospital, Val is forced to work the night shift, finding herself in a dark, near empty building. Within these walls lies a deadly secret, forcing Val to face both her own traumatic past and deepest fears in order to confront the malevolent force that’s intent on destroying everything around her.”

The Power will be available to watch on horror streaming service Shudder from Thursday 8th April.

Emily Gotto, Shudder’s Director of Global Acquisitions & Co-Productions, commented: “With The Power, Corinna Faith has established herself as a remarkable new voice in genre cinema. We know Shudder members will be terrified by her debut feature and thrilled by Rose Williams’ star-making performance.”

The cast also includes Shakira Rahman, Charlie Carrick (Reign), Diveen Henry (Apple Tree Yard), Gbemisola Ikumelo (Death in Paradise), Emma Rigby (Endeavour), and Theo Barklem-Biggs (Carnival Row).

While it’s still looking unlikely that Sanditon will return for a second season, the cast are certainly keeping busy.

Victoria star Leo Suter, who played Young Stringer, has joined the cast of Netflix’s new Vikings spin-off.

And Sidney Parker actor Theo James will lead the new TV adaptation of The Time Traveler’s Wife by Sherlock writer Steven Moffat.

Sanditon is available on DVD on Amazon.
