US viewers will finally be able to watch The Trial of Christine Keeler next month.

Based on one of the most infamous British true life stories, the BBC period drama explores the chain of events in the 1960s which became known as the Profumo affair.

The Trial of Christine Keeler has an amazing cast, including James Norton (Grantchester), Sophie Cookson (Kingsman), Ellie Bamber (Les Miserables), Ben Miles (The Crown), Emilia Fox (Silent Witness), and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Angels in America).

The six-part series aired in the UK back in January, receiving positive reviews.

It’s now been announced that The Trial of Christine Keeler will premiere in the US on Wednesday 9th December on HBO Max.

The story follows the cover-up of an affair between a British Minister and 19-year-old model Christine Keeler as the scandal threatens to bring down the government.

Keren Shahar, distributor for The Trial of Christine Keeler, commented: “We are thrilled to have found this stunning series a home in the US on HBO Max.

“By retelling this scandal from Christine’s perspective for the first time, this captivating period piece feels relevant, contemporary and so very HBO Max, despite depicting real-life events from nearly six decades ago.”

James Norton’s new period drama movie Mr Jones recently had a digital release after its cinema release was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Mr Jones is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
