The second season of Vikings: Valhalla is coming soon!

Luckily there was no chance of Netflix cancelling the show anyway, as they’d already ordered a total 24 episodes, to air over three seasons.

Season 2 had already finished filming before the show even made its debut, and the cast have been busy filming Season 3 in Ireland this year.

What’s the release date for Season 2?

All eight brand new episodes will premiere on Thursday 12th January 2023, exclusively on Netflix.

The streaming service announced the news on Twitter recently, saying: “The epic journey continues 🔥⚔️🔥 VIKINGS: VALHALLA Season 2 returns January 12, 2023.”

Netflix has also unveiled a set of promotional photos.

Showrunner and creator Jeb Stuart previously commented: “Fans of Valhalla — THANK YOU to the millions of you who have watched (and rewatched!) Season One. The numbers have been mind-boggling and beyond my wildest expectations.

He added: “While the storylines for Leif, Freydis, Harald, Olaf, Canute and the rest of our amazing cast are secret, I can say without hesitation that their journeys will be even more epic than what you’ve seen so far. SKÅL!!!”

Following a new generation of legendary heroes as they arise to forge their own destiny, the first season of Viking: Valhalla starred Leo Suter (Sanditon), Sam Corlett (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), and Frida Gustavsson (The Witcher), all of whom will be reprising their roles in Season 2.

Netflix has released a one-minute scene from the new season as a teaser, in which our legendary Viking heroes – Leif Eriksson, Freydis Eriksdotter, and Harald Sigurdsson – make a desperate last stand against Olaf and his warriors.
