Watch the new trailer for ‘Paddington in Peru’

StudioCanal has shared the new trailer for the third Paddington film ‘Paddington in Peru’ which will be released in November of this year.

What’s it about?

The third instalment of the franchise will see Britain’s favourite marmalade-eating bear making the journey to his native Peru to visit his Aunt Lucy – with the whole Brown family in tow.

Paddington is shocked to discover on arrival that Aunt Lucy has gone missing while working on a scientific mission.  An unexpected adventure ensues when the group find themselves working to solve a mystery that will lead them on a journey  through the Amazon rainforest and up to the mountain tops of Peru.

Who is in it?

Ben Whishaw is back as the voice of Paddington and Imelda Staunton as the voice of Aunt Lucy, with Hugh Bonneville (Mr Brown), Jim Broadbent (Mr Gruber), and Julie Walters as housekeeper Mrs Bird. However, Sally Hawkins, who played Mrs Brown, has decided not to return for the third film so she has been replaced by Emily Mortimer.

In a statement Sally Hawkins said:

“For me it has felt the right time to hand the reins over to another, and one can’t get much better than the truly wonderful Emily Mortimer, she is extraordinarily special.”

Oscar winning actor Olivia Colman will join the cast as a nun who runs the Home for Retired Bears, while Antonio Banderas will play a swashbuckling sailor who helps the group with their quest to find Aunt Lucy.

Who is behind it?

The biggest change is that Paul King, who directed the first and second films, will stand down for the third one and hand over the reins to newcomer Dougal Wilson. Paul King will act as Executive Producer and has stayed on board to develop the story.  Paddington 3 will be produced by David Heyman and Rosie Alison, who also produced the first two films.
