‘All Creatures Great and Small’ reveals Season 4 trailer: ‘Are you ready?’

Channel 5 has released the first trailer for the new season of All Creatures Great and Small!

Six brand new episodes of the popular period drama began filming in Yorkshire earlier this year.

Based on author James Herriot’s much-loved collection of stories, the series follows the heartwarming and humorous adventures of a young country vet in the Yorkshire Dales.

All Creatures Great and Small returns next month, with change on the horizon for everyone in Skeldale House as we rejoin the characters in the spring of 1940.

Season 4 is back on UK screens at 9pm on Thursday 5 October on Channel 5.

“This show continues to be such a joyful antidote to our divided and messy modern world that is as wonderfully uplifting to make as it is to watch,” commented executive producer Melissa Gallant.

“James Herriot’s spirit of kindness, truth and humour has been making people feel better for over 50 years and we’re delighted and honoured to be bringing more of that to our audience in this fourth series,” she added.

“So happy – the only thing I religiously watch on television!” wrote one fan on Facebook after watching the trailer. “Heartwarming, comforting – pure escapism!”

“I love love love this series,” said another excited viewer. “The actors and landscape are spectacular!”

One fan has literally been counting down the days, writing: “More than ready, we’ve waited 55 weeks from the beginning of series 3 to the start of series 4!”

Others were anxious about the fates awaiting their favourite characters as the story unfolds in 1940, with a comment saying: “The one with the war. This might be emotional…”

In the US, the new episodes will premiere on PBS Masterpiece in January 2024, airing back-to-back with the next season of Miss Scarlet and The Duke on Sunday nights.

All Creatures Great and Small is available to watch on PBS Masterpiece via Amazon Prime with a free 7-day trial.
