‘Conclave’ reviews round-up: ‘Ralph Fiennes leads a superb ensemble cast’

The first reviews are in for the gripping new Vatican-set thriller Conclave that premiered recently at the Telluride film festival in Colorado. 

The story follows the drama that develops behind the scenes when the Pope dies suddenly and one man, Cardinal Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes),  is tasked with overseeing the process of electing a new Pope. 

The film stars Ralph Fiennes (The English Patient), John Lithgow (Footloose), and Stanley Tucci (The Devil Wears Prada).

They’re joined by Isabella Rossellini, Carlos Diehz, Lucian Msamati, Brían F. O’Byrne, Merab Ninidze, and Sergio Castellitto.

The website Rotten Tomatoes has assigned a staggering 100% to the film, based on the 11 reviews and ratings that it has received so far. Quite the accolade!
