PBS confirms ‘Endeavour’ release date for Season 9 in the US

It’s been announced when American viewers can see the final season of Endeavour!

Starring Shaun Evans as the young Endeavour Morse, ITV’s spin-off series debuted in 2012, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Inspector Morse’s television debut.

The show’s last ever episode aired in the UK earlier this month, wrapping up Endeavour after an incredible nine seasons and 36 feature-length mysteries.

While British fans are still recovering from the emotional finale, those in the US are still waiting to watch the final three stories.

Fortunately, the wait won’t be too much longer…

When’s the release date for Season 9 in the US?

PBS has officially confirmed today that the ninth season of Endeavour will premiere at 9/8c on Sunday 18th June on Masterpiece on PBS.

Episodes will be airing weekly, with the series finale set to air in the US on Sunday 2nd July.

Watch Masterpiece’s brand new trailer here:

“I thought things would just go on, but then they don’t,” says Endeavour ominously in the trailer.

American fans had better have some tissues at the ready, as British followers were left in tears at the ending!

Set in the spring of 1972, the final season’s opening episode sees two unexplained deaths turn up ties to the Oxford Concert Orchestra, while Thursday and Endeavour’s investigation unearths some unsettling connections to cases the duo believed were well and truly behind them.

After the show ended in the UK, it was followed by a documentary looking back at Endeavour on ITV1.

Titled Morse and the Last Endeavour, it featured interviews with all the main cast members, so hopefully PBS will also be airing this at some point.

Meanwhile, Endeavour star Shaun Evans has already lined up his next role, starring in a new true crime drama for ITV from the makers of Line of Duty and Bodyguard.

Endeavour is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
