Another month, another selection of new movies and TV series to watch on Netflix in the US!

The complete list of additions for April 2023 is as massive as ever, so here we’ve picked out the best titles for fans of British films and television to add to their watch list, as well as other historical dramas, period dramas, and classic movies we think you’d like.

Check back here over the coming weeks, as more titles will likely be joining this list as and when they’re announced by Netflix.

Netflix’s big original movie for historical drama fans in April is the upcoming The Last Kingdom movie, following last year’s fifth and final season.

We’ve also got some classic Hitchcock movies being added this month, along with Tom Cruise’s Vietnam drama Born on the Fourth of July, a couple of Tom Hanks films, and an extended version of Quentin Tarantino’s 2015 epic The Hateful Eight.

Based on Julie Orringer’s novel The Flight Portfolio, Netflix’s Transatlantic series comes from the makers of Deutschland 83, while Miriam Margolyes’s Almost Australian series will be a fun watch for fans of the Call the Midwife actress.
