The couple, though, decide to elope (with money stolen from Charmian’s employer) and hide out before being caught. After Ron’s imprisonment, now the parents of young children, the Biggs are unable to come up with the deposit for a house they want.
In order to secure the money, Ron plots with a friend to plan one of the most famous crimes in British history – the Great Train Robbery of 1963.
The Commander – Seasons 1-5 (available from 18 September 2023)

Avoidance – Season 1 (available from 20 September 2023)
Created and written by Romesh Ranganathan and Benjamin Green and starring Romesh Ranganathan, the BAFTA-winning actor and comedian behind the Netflix special The Cynic, Avoidance follows hapless anti-hero Jonathan who is struggling to get back on his feet after breaking up with partner Claire (Jessica Knappett, Ghosts).
After Claire has accused him of being impossible to live with, and keen to avoid conflict at all costs, Jonathan moves in with his sister (Mandeep Dhillon, CSI: Vegas) and her wife (Lisa McGrillis, Mum). For the sake of his 9-year-old son, Spencer, Jonathan starts to rebuild his life and pull himself together, which is hard when you lack all the necessary tools to do so.
The Hunt for Raoul Moat (available from 28 September 2023)
The Hunt for Raoul Moat shines a light on the human tragedies behind the true story of Britain’s biggest ever manhunt. In 2010, Raoul Moat (Matt Stokoe, Bodyguard) went on the run after shooting three people, evading capture for over a week and threatening to kill again.
As the first such case to be covered ‘live’ by 24-hour news channels in the UK, the manhunt played out against a warped perception of this vicious killer as an ‘anti-hero’, a persecuted victim fighting back against the authorities.
A timely reminder of how fake news and social media can create a dangerous myth, this is an unflinching account of those shocking events, focusing on Moat’s innocent victims, the officers who put themselves in the firing line, and the journalist who sought to tell the real story.
Manhunt: The Raoul Moat Story (available from 28 September 2023)
In July 2010, when bodybuilder Raoul Moat shot three people and went on the run vowing to ‘kill coppers’, it led to a massive seven-day police operation, and even involved survival expert Ray Mears and footballer Paul Gascoigne.
This layered, true-crime documentary uses previously unseen news archive, UGC and Moat’s own audio tapes to detail how the story evolved in real-time, and wonders what turned this seemingly ordinary man into a killer.
It also reveals the impact of 24-hour rolling news and social media, as events built to a dramatic climax.
Mrs. Brown’s Boys – new specials (available from late September 2023)
A new four episode mini-series of Mrs. Brown’s Boys. Starring Brendan O’Carroll in his hysterical drag persona, Mrs. Agnes Brown, the series revolves around the loud-mouthed Irish matriarch, whose favorite pastime is meddling in the lives of her six children and her friends.
