Watch the ‘Victoria’ cast pay tribute to Queen Victoria’s dog, Dash

The Victoria cast fondly remember Dash, the Queen’s canine companion, in a new video released by PBS.

Queen Victoria was given Dash when she was 13.

The King Charles Spaniel was described by Victoria’s biographer Elizabeth Longford as her “closest childhood companion” and lived from 1830–1840. He was the first in “a long line of beloved little dogs” owned by the Queen.

Following his heartbreaking final scenes in the second season of Victoria, here’s a lovely tribute to Dash:

It was confirmed last month that Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who) and Tom Hughes (The Game) will both be returning as Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in a third season of Victoria, which is expected to begin filming this spring.

Victoria writer Daisy Goodwin has hinted: “[Season 3] will start in 1848 which was a hugely dramatic and eventful time for both the royal family and Europe, with revolutions on the continent and uncertainty around the monarchy.”

The first season of Victoria is available now on DVD.

Season 2 is currently airing in the US on Sunday nights on Masterpiece on PBS.
