2021’s most popular British period drama actor revealed – as voted by you!
2021 gave us some riveting British period drama performances.
Following numerous postponed releases and filming delays in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, an incredible range of movies and TV series finally arrived on our screens last year.
Period drama legends like Benedict Cumberbatch, Ralph Fiennes, Hugh Bonneville, Dan Stevens, and Aidan Turner returned with roles in The Electrical Life of Louis Wain, The Dig, To Olivia, Blithe Spirit, and Leonardo.
Younger stars like Nicholas Ralph, Matthew Beard, and Zephryn Taitte continued to impress in All Creatures Great and Small, Vienna Blood, and Call the Midwife.
Meanwhile, newcomers Olly Alexander and Tahar Rahim blew us away in It’s a Sin and The Serpent, and period drama stalwarts like Shaun Evans and Robson Green were reliable as ever in Endeavour and Grantchester.
(For a full a recap, take a look back at our complete guide to the year’s British period drama movies and our list of all the year’s British period drama TV series.)
