‘Downton Abbey’ fans can now watch ‘A New Era’ at home on demand
The new Downton movie is released to watch at home today!
Based on ITV’s hit period drama series, the highly-anticipated sequel finally arrived in cinemas this spring.
Set in 1928, Downton Abbey: A New Era finds our beloved characters embarking on a lavish trip to the South of France where they must uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess’ newly inherited villa.
The film is now available to rent online via Amazon Prime for $19.99 in the US.
This is great news for fans who’ve not been able to visit the cinema – or just if you want to watch it again in the comfort of your own home.
Renting Downton Abbey: A New Era on Amazon Prime allows you 30 days to start watching the movie and 48 hours to finish once you’ve started.
Of course, you can watch the film as many times as you like during that 48 hour period.
A New Era is also now available to pre-order on DVD ahead of its disc release next month.

Downton Abbey: A New Era received some great reviews from the British press when it opened in the UK at the end of April.
“The luxury soap opera’s second feature-length spin-off ticks all the right boxes,” wrote The Telegraph, while The Guardian called it “undeniably entertaining as ever.”
Cinema magazine Empire said “it’s hard to imagine a more perfect note upon which to end the series.”
UK viewers will be able to rent the movie online from Monday 13th June.
