Michelle Dockery joins exciting new thriller ‘Flight Risk’

Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery‘s latest project has been revealed!

Best known as Lady Mary in ITV’s hit period drama series and its two spin-off movies, she’s going to be starring in a new suspense thriller called Flight Risk.

The movie will see the 42-year-old English actress appear alongside Topher Grace (That ’70s Show) and Mark Wahlberg (The Italian Job).

Flight Risk is being directed by disgraced actor Mel Gibson, in his first directorial project since World War II drama Hacksaw Ridge in 2016.

Wahlberg will be playing a pilot transporting an Air Marshal, played by Dockery, who’s been tasked with accompanying a fugitive (Grace) to trial.

“As they cross the Alaskan wilderness, tensions soar and trust is tested, as not everyone on board is who they seem,” Deadline reports.

The upcoming film is based on an in-demand script from 2020 written by newcomer Jared Rosenberg.

Michelle Dockery has gone on to huge success since Downton Abbey came to an end in 2015.

Following roles in Netflix thriller Anatomy of a Scandal, Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen, Apple TV+ hit Defending Jacob, and Western drama Godless, she’s got an absolutely packed slate of projects arriving this year.

Roles to look out for include Here with Tom Hanks, Please Don’t Feed the Children, which is the directorial debut of Steven Spielberg’s daughter, and action-thriller Boy Kills World.

She’s also a lead in ’80s music drama series This Town, coming soon on BBC One from the creator of Peaky Blinders.

We could even be seeing Dockery reprise her role as Lady Mary if the rumoured seventh season of Downton Abbey goes ahead!

Hacksaw Ridge is available on DVD on Amazon.
