‘Call the Midwife’ wins again at TV Choice Awards 2024

It was a successful night for Call the Midwife at this year’s TV Choice Awards!

The 2024 winners were revealed last night at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

We’re very happy to report that Call the Midwife once again took home the award for Best Family Drama.

Fans were quick to congratulate the actors and crew on Facebook, with one writing: “Congratulations, you brilliant people!”

“Fantastic story tellers, ensemble cast, brilliant writing and character development, congratulations to everyone involved in this production, be very proud,” said a keen follower.

“So well deserved! Congratulations to you all and thank you for making a fantastic show!” commented another.

Several of the long-running period drama’s cast were in attendance at the awards show, posing for this lovely photo after their win:

A thirteenth season of Call the Midwife began on BBC One last month, set in 1969.

Also winning awards last night were Martin Clunes, landing Best Actor for his role in Doc Martin, and Happy Valley star Sarah Lancashire for Best Actress.

It was a double-win for Happy Valley, with the BBC’s acclaimed police drama landing another gong for Best Drama Series.

Death in Paradise spin-off Beyond Paradise was the winner of the Best New Drama award.

And one of our faves, The Great British Bake Off, won Best Talent Show.

Also taking home awards were Ben Fogle and Kate Humble’s lovely wildlife series Animal Park for Best Daytime Show, Channel 4’s Gogglebox for Best Entertainment Show, and Channel 5’s Winter on the Farm for Best Factual Show.

Well done, everyone!

Call the Midwife is taking a short break this weekend as BBC One is airing 2024’s BAFTA Film Awards ceremony on Sunday night instead, but the new season continues in the UK on Sunday 25 February.

Season 13 will premiere in the US this spring on PBS Masterpiece.
